Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Laptop Program:

St John’s has a dual (supported and unsupported) BYOD laptop program giving students and families flexibility and choice. Please note that ABSTUDY funded Boarders will have their BYOD laptop coordinated by the College. All other students including non-ABSTUDY funded Boarders will need to coordinate their own laptop in accordance with the information supplied below.

Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Laptop Program – Supported Program:

The College has partnered with technology for education firm Edunet for the BYOD supported program. Families selecting this option purchase one of three designated laptops through the Edunet portal from a ‘good, better, best’ price and specification structure. By participating in the supported program students receive access to College WiFi, use of the College Image (software / programs) and IT support, as well as the resourcing, support and benefits of the Edunet program. Compulsory items within the package include a software imaging, three-year warranty, carry bag and an ‘eduskin’. The College highly recommends families purchase insurance through the Edunet portal.

Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Laptop Program Unsupported Program:

Students are also permitted to bring their own choice of laptop (meeting the listed minimum specifications) through the BYOD unsupported program. The term ‘unsupported program’ refers to students/families being responsible for all matters associated with the device – purchase, warranty, programs, maintenance, insurance, etc. Please note that there is no guarantee that BYOD devices will be able to access the NT Schools Network and connect with the College WiFi. The College will only provide limited IT Support to students electing to participate in the unsupported BYOD program. Although not mandated, Apple and Google Chrome devices are not recommended for the BYOD unsupported program due to their incompatibility with the NT Schools network.

Computer Labs:

The College maintains several Computer Labs in addition to the BYOD laptop program.
